:: ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES
The caution regarding the environment preservation is one of ALL’s largest priorities, in which it is investing on average R$ 350 thousand per year in projects for environmental control, specialized studies, facilities against fire and signalization.
ALL seeks efficient and modern solutions to guarantee the ecosystem defense. Its locomotive maintenance workshop holds an acoustic treated shack for testing the power of machines and atmospheric treatment in the cabin where parts are painted. The company also has two effluent treatment stations for residuals generated by the washing of its assets and pieces, setting aside oil residues for incineration.
One of the Company’s main actions, to avoid damages caused by eventual accidents resulting from the spillage of chemical products, was the preparation of an Emergency Plan, approved by the main environmental bodies. To help on accidents, ALL counts on nine support bases in strategic points of its rail network. These bases operate full time and are able to provide all the material needed for the contention of chemical products. ALL also counts on a 24-hour assistance all over Brazil, rendered by a company specialized in accidents with hazardous loads.
To assure the efficacy and agility in controlling accidents with possible damages to the environment, ALL holds an environmental brigade. Safety technicians and supervisors for each production unit form groups who are in charge of the environmental care. All workers who assume this position go through constant trainings to be acquainted with the measures to protect the environment. In all states where the company operates, it enters into partnerships with governmental entities and is complying with all demands of public bodies linked to environmental issues.

:: SAFETY AT WORK
ALL counts on a Safety Management System which guarantees the health and safety preservation of its employees during the performance of their duties, establishing systematic actions regarding control, monitoring and accident prevention, besides promoting the continuous improvement, through education and training.
Among the programs developed by ALL, the highlights are the Notice of Risk, in which all employees can report incidents and unsafe conditions observed in the area, the Red Card, warning those who do not follow the guidelines, and the Safety Scratch Cards, which recognizes the commitment of workers with the distribution of scratch cards for the units which obtain zero rate in labor accidents.
Only last year, almost 3 thousand professionals and third-parties of ALL Brazil in the railroad segment and 2 thousand in the road one were trained in stages regarding Safety, Health and Environment, surpassing, respectively, 12% and 58% of the goal forecasted for the year.
